Update on Mango Airlines Article

well, i have to say i’m truly astounded. a few months ago, i heard that mango airlines was the new name for the budget airline company that was launching. so i wrote a few lines on the new mango airlines. It was just a couple of lines which mentioned that mango’s new website would be www.flymango.co.za and it mentioned the other airlines’s websites such as flysaa etc

i’ve been in internet marketing for many years, but i have to admit that even i was surprised when a flood of traffic started hitting my blog. i’ve got a number of different blogs and websites, but the ericedelstein.com blog i run is a small, personal fun blog that mainly lets my friends know what i’m up to.

anyway, for some reason the search engines had decided that my few lines on mango, meant that i was the most authoritive author on the topic, and had pushed me way up the list whenever a visitor typed in mango or a variation.

i couldn’t let the opportunity pass, and so placed a banner for the travelstart campaign (which compares airline’s and book online) under the article. travelstart runs their affiliate program through the affiliate network TrafficSynergy.co.za (an internet company i have an involvement in)

i thought that within a few days, the traffic would dry up – and yet once again i was wrong – a few days later, i was no longer top on the world “mango” but i continued receiving large amounts of traffic on all mango related terms.

and now months later, nothing has changed. here is a sampling of some of the “mango” related terms that people typed into the search engines over the last few days, and found – that’s right – my small, insignificant blog.

i think it might be time to launch the long overwaited blog i’ve been thinking about on internet marketing in south africa!!!

david blaine frozen in time

i’ve just been watching the david blaine documentary “frozen in time”. david blaine is either the most amazing magician or has something special that the rest of us don’t possess. but to keep yourself surrounded by ice for 62 hours is nothing short of incredible.

frozen in time also shows him doing a number of other  acts, but nothing prepares you for watching someone standing in ice for 62 hours solid.

not that it wasn’t a achievement for him! when he came out of the ice, david was visibly in pain, and had to be taken to hospital in an ambulance. he appeared totally out of it.

david blaine stood – he didn’t sit – he STOOD, for 62 hours surrounded by ice with only water. incredible!!!
