An Inconvenient Truth WINS

February 26, 2007

It was a few months back and I remember I was at the waterfront noveau with Eran and Scott watching the Al Gore documentary “An Inconvenient Truth”.

About half way through, Eran suddently got up and walked out. Didn’t say anything, just got up and left the cinema. Okay, his popcorn needed refilling, quick bathroom break (got to get away from this bathroom stuff)

Anyway, after about 15 minutes, I got a little worried so went outside as well to look for Eran – nothing was wrong – he just needed some fresh air from the movie.

WE ALL THOUGHT AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH WAS A POWERFUL MOVIE.

I’ve had many discussions with people, some who think an inconvenient truth was brilliant, and some who thought the hype was to generate more publicity for Mr Gore. (or plain cash).

Tonight i’ve just watched Davis Guggenheim (I think it was Mr Guggenheim) accept the award at the 79th Annual Academy Awards for BEST DOCUMENTARY FEATURE for An inconvenient truth.

And Al Gore had a couple of words for the world – An Inconvenient Truth is not JUST a movie.

Unfortunately, before the academy awards began, one of the presenters outside mentioned that 9% of the public, had only seen ONE of the 5 movies nominated for best picture, and around 40% hadn’t seen a SINGLE one of the 5 movies (not sure if i’m getting my numbers right – i was watching with a half eye / ear until the Al Gore documentary won!).

which means that a MAJORITY of people haven’t seen an inconvenient truth!

Anyway, IMDB is always the first place to find out info about any movie, so let that be your starting point…

If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s now an Academy Award winning movie!!!!

And if you have, watch it again!!!
